Saw this somewhere else and felt the need to post it cause no one else ever really tells you this stuff

My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.

My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2

My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits.

Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.

This could SAVE a life.

The day my sister got back from the hospital after a suicide attempt. I didnt let go for about an hour.

Kid just found out his brother was shot and killed.

The aftermath of two homemade bombs that went off in Copley Square at the Boston Marathon today. It makes me sick that a person can do this. Its been a little over an hour and so far there have been 2 reported deaths and 23 injuries. My thoughts and prayers go out to everybody affected by this horrendous tragedy.

Several individuals have been wounded or killed by two explosions that rocked the final leg of the Boston Marathon. The cause of the two explosions, which went off one after the other, is as of yet unknown. Police and emergency workers have closed off the finish line and surrounding area, and four injured individuals have been rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital so far.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those suffering in this tragedy, and to those whose family and friends are in the area. If you need to reach out to someone, cell service is reportedly overloaded, so text messaging will likely be a better way to get in touch with loved ones.

The Problem With The Big Bang Theory...

I’ve been meaning to post something about The Big Bang Theory for a while now but it’s taken me ‘till now to really understand what it is about the show that makes me uncomfortable. I’m not exactly a believer in the whole “only write about the things you like, don’t trash the things you don’t” trend which seems to be plaguing comments sections in negative articles lately, but I wanted to be able to really examine why I don’t like TBBT rather than just slagging it off. My main questions being - Why don’t I like this anymore? Why do I feel uncomfortable watching it? And why do I get so annoyed when I see people sing its praises online? The thing which really sparked this post was seeing a raft of comments on Facebook, below the last round of voting in Television Without Pity’s Tubey Awards, claiming The Big Bang Theory to be “the best comedy on TV”. This made me angry so instead of posting an impulsive comment calling out their bad taste which I’d probably regret later, I decided to really analyse why seeing comments like that made me so mad when previously, although I didn’t really love the show, I’d never considered myself as disliking The Big Bang Theory.

Hell, I even have season one on dvd, it’s sitting right between Battlestar Galactica and Bored To Death in my alphabetised collection.

And here, I think, is where my problem with The Big Bang Theory lies…
